Keshav and Kavya are the founders of K2K Strings and are excited to continue this project that they started in the summer of 2020. They are both senior students of Daniel Gee Cordova. and run the Austin chapter of Harmonies for the Elderly, a group that performs at memory care facilities.
Keshav is a 2020 Texas Young Master and a winner of the 2021 & 2022 National YoungArts. He has been a member of National Youth Orchestra of the United States of America (NYO-USA) in 2021 and 2022.
Keshav attends Northwestern University pursuing a dual degree in Violin Performance and Neuroscience. Kavya attends the University of Waterloo, majoring in Knowledge Integration with a Minor in Music.
Jared is an 19 year old violinist who’s been playing for 14 years. He is dedicated to enhancing and enriching the lives of others through music and all the gifts that come with it. He is at Purdue University studying Law and Society. with a minor in Music. Violin is a big part of his life and he hopes to spread that gift with others.
Claire is an incoming senior in high school who loves playing the cello. She has won numerous prizes in competitions such as the Collin County Young Artist Competition and the Fort Worth Symphony Young Artist Competition. Most recently, she was invited to play on From The Top Show #381 in Key West, FL. Claire has attended many summer festivals including the Greenwood Music Camp, the Heifetz International Institute, and the Meadowmount School of Music where she studied with Hans Jorgen Jensen. This year, Claire was named a 2020 Texas Young Master. She currently studies with Norman Fischer and Clive Greensmith. Claire hopes to use her love of music to spread empathy and understanding.
Ram Sivaraman is a rising sophomore at LASA High School. He has played the violin at the Austin Youth Orchestra and his school’s orchestra for over seven years. Ram has won several awards for music at UIL, Texas Strings Festival, and other music competitions. He was the recipient of Outstanding Musician award from the Texas Strings Festival in 2018. He has been part of the TMEA All-Region orchestra every year since 2018. He was part of TMEA’s Honors Orchestra in middle school. In 2020, his orchestra was the National Winner for Middle School String Orchestra. Ram is also adept in Indian Classical music and has performed at local and international festivals. Ram enjoys teaching music, math, and science.
Arnav is a senior at LASA High School, and has been playing cello since 6th grade. He learns the cello under the tutelage of Melissa Solomon. He participates in Quiz Bowl in school, and loves to read books and listen to music in his free time. He is looking forward to sharing his love of music with others.
Anika is a junior at LASA high school. She has been playing the violin for 12 years and is a longtime student of Megan Canney. Anika was Concertmaster of the Region 18 All-Region MS Symphony Orchestra, Concertmaster of the Interlochen Intermediate Strings Orchestra as well as a member of UT-Austin String Project, Austin Youth Orchestra, and Kealing Symphony Orchestra. In high school she is a member of the LASA Honors Orchestra, member of the Region 18 Symphony Orchestra and a member of the 2022 TMEA All-State Sinfonietta Orchestra. A highlight of her training is being a student at Interlochen Center for the Arts in northern Michigan for the past 5 summers. Outside of violin, Anika enjoys swim team, running track, and spending time with friends and family. Anika is excited to share her love of the violin with other students. This summer she will be at the Green Mountain Chamber Music Festival working with Sandy Yamamoto, Sheila Browne and Susan Debois.
Miguel is a rising sophomore at LASA High School. He started playing piano twelve years ago and has been playing the cello for the past 11 years. He was a member of the Kealing Symphony Orchestra and is currently a member of the LASA High School Honors Orchestra. Miguel has also participated in the All-Region orchestra since seventh grade and has won the "Best in Class" award in the Austin ISD Solo and Ensemble competition. Miguel has played in several chamber groups and has played in Austin Youth Orchestra. He has also participated in several summer music institutes, including Luzerne Music Festival. Miguel has also received several awards in music competitions over the past decade.
Alice is a rising senior at Hebron High School in Carrollton, TX. She has studied with Charles Krigbaum and is currently studying with Ronald Houston. Alice has been selected for the past 3 years in the TMEA All State Orchestra where she was principal violist in 2020 and assistant principal in 2019. She was also placed in the All Region Symphony Orchestra since 2017. Alice has participated in multiple ensembles including UNT Summer String Institute, Baylor University Summer Music Camp, Lone Star Young Artist Program, and Greater Dallas Youth Orchestra. In her free time, Alice enjoys gaming and reading.
Akhila is currently a rising junior at LASA high school. She started learning violin when she was three and is currently a student of Kristi Manno of Bluebonnet Suzuki School. She has played in All Region Orchestra in both middle and high school and was a concertmaster at Austin Youth Orchestra. Akhila has participated in both the LASA Chamber Orchestra and the LASA Full Orchestra. She is currently also a part of a chamber ensemble, where she plays viola. In addition, Akhila also enjoys singing and playing the violin in the Indian Carnatic genre, competitive sparring in Tang Soo Do and listening to rock.
Sullivan is a rising Senior at McCallum High School who’s been playing Double Bass for eight years. He started out at the UT-Austin String Project and has been the principal bassist in the Kealing Symphony Orchestra and Region 18 All-Region MS Symphony Orchestra. He has studied under a few teachers but is currently a student of Andrew Potter. When he's not playing bass he's usually writing songs for his rock band or listening to music. He's looking forward to working with K2K Strings and helping the community.
Grace is a senior at Bowie High School and started playing the viola in 6th grade. She's been a member of TMEA All-Region Orchestra for the past six years and is a 4 time TMEA All-Stater. At Bowie, she's the orchestra's principal violist and plays in the pit for the Bowie theatre's yearly musicals. She currently studies under Leah Nelson. Besides pestering people about Mahler, Grace loves to go on long nature walks and study Russian, and works on the side as a Russian-to-English translator. The lack of collaboration and performance opportunities during COVID has taken a large toll on Grace's motivation, and she can't wait to finally start sharing her love of viola with others again.
William is a 15 year old cellist and composer. He has been playing cello since the 6th grade, and is now a freshman and the principal cellist of the Bowie High School orchestra. He studies under the private studio of Dr. Rylie Harrod-Corral. He is a member of the Starlight Symphony Orchestra, a community symphony in Kyle, Texas, and has attended All-Region orchestra at the middle and high school levels since his 2nd year of playing. William also has been composing classical music for 3 years, and received numerous achievements including being a winner of the Texas Young Composers Competition held by the Austin Symphony Orchestra.
